Amid COVID-19 Pandemic, Hendersonville Police Remain Watchful Over City

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Hendersonville Police have remained vigilant in our efforts to prevent crime and prosecute those who make the mistake of committing them in our city.  To prevent our citizens from being victims of crime at this time when they may already be struggling in other ways, our officers have been particularly watchful for crimes of burglary and theft.  These efforts have been successful and our officers have brought charges against two more persons today charged with burglary and theft related offenses.

At approximately 1:00 PM on Thursday March 26th Hendersonville Police received a report of a residential burglary to a home in the 100 block of Rebecca Drive.  The burglary and theft of property from the home was reported to have occurred within the last few hours prior to the report.  Investigation into this incident resulted in the identification of the person responsible, Justin Macy (age 31) of Hendersonville.  Justin Macy has since been arrested on unrelated charges in Dickson County and is being held in the Dickson County Jail with a hold pending transfer to Sumner County Jail on charges of Aggravated Burglary and Theft over $2,500 resulting from this incident.  The court date and bond on the charges from Hendersonville Police are not yet set.

At 11:51 AM on Friday March 27th Hendersonville Patrol Officers responded to a report of a golf cart stolen from an apartment complex in the Bonita Parkway area.  Approximately an hour later, another report from the area came in from Hendersonville Fire Department Station 3 related to a male possibly attempting to steal a four-wheeler from the Fire Department.  Responding officers were able to locate the suspect responsible for both of these incidents in the area and located a tablet belonging to Sumner County Emergency Medical Services on his person that he had stolen from within an ambulance parked inside the fire station.  Hendersonville Police have arrested Angel Gutierrez-Ortiz (age 27) from Mexico in connection with these incidents and have charged him with Aggravated Burglary and Theft under $1,000.  The court date and bond for Mr. Gutierrez-Ortiz are not yet known.

Police would ask that anyone with information on these cases please call and report that information to Hendersonville Police at 615-264-5303 or the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400.  Tips may also be submitted using the P3 Tips Mobile Application.
